Jimmy Carter, today in history-Leadership Project

                                             Today in history

                                                                 Jimmy Carter

A leader and Former President of United States of America

A day like today October 11th of 2002, Jimmy Carter, who was the 39th president of the United States, won a Noble Peace Prize because he had peace talks between Israel and Egypt in 1978.

Jimmy Carter ( James Earl Carter Jr. ) was born on October 1 of 1924, he is 88 years old now. When he was a child, his father owned a peanut farm in Plains, Georgia and Jimmy Carter helped his father on the farm.

He went to the NAVY but while he was in the NAVY, they made fun of him because he was short. He did not pay attention to that, and he became a Lieutenant and he even had a submarine in charge.

As a president he would not fight with other countries, he would bring peace and he negotiated with them. He also fights for human rights and is the author of 17 books.

I think he is a leader for not letting other people stop him from his goals and for using peace to negotiate and talk to other countries.
